… is happy you took the time to click on the link in her email signature, or to Google her (I won’t tell).
Michèle is a NYC-based director with roots in the Mountain West telling stories of mythic proportion with a contemporary praxis.
Michèle is committed to making, funding, and sharing art that is both revolutionary and revelatory. She is a director, producer, and emerging movement choreographer with a parallel and symbiotically informative career in arts administration with a focus on nonprofit development.
As a director, Michèle oscillates between both new and classic works, though she has a lifelong love for Shakespeare. Her directing style is non-hierarchical and rests on her musical and movement backgrounds, her penchant for associative thinking, and a deep belief in her collaborators.
As an administrator, Michèle is invested in furthering projects that advance the wellbeing of communities which she serves. As a grant writer, she has raised over $100,000 to support nonprofit performing arts education programming, and has worked with companies like Ensemble Studio Theatre, Manhattan School of Music, and the Juilliard School.
Michèle measures the quality of her artistic work by its impact on both artist and audience. She prioritizes the emotional and creative wellbeing of her artistic collaborators through generous authority and incessant curiosity.
Michèle believes that joy is a radical act.
